Clothes Helping Kids has been providing financial assistance to disadvantaged children in central and northern New Mexico since 2000.

This organization schedules daily pickups of donated items in certain New Mexico communities. The income generated from the sale of these donations constitute grants that are given annually.

These grants support programs centered on youth development. Other non-profit groups, such as community centers, schools, and crisis or child-care centers, offer these programs in local communities.

Telephone representatives affiliated with this organization reach out to potential donors in the city of Albuquerque and surrounding areas.  As they are a non-profit organization, they are not covered by the National Do Not Call Registry.

Since its inception, this organization has given over 200 grants to community-based organizations. The grants have totaled over $1,500,000.

They also accept furniture, such as sofas, entertainment centers, chairs, tables, and bed frames. Furniture can only be donated in the Albuquerque/Rio Rancho area.

This organization currently has drop-off boxes stationed in the following locations: Los Lunas, Tijeras, Rio Rancho & Corrales, Santa Fe, and Albuquerque.

Trucks pass through select communities every day to collect scheduled donations, which are sold in bulk to Savers thrift stores within the state of New Mexico. Savers shops may also accept donations on behalf of Clothes Helping Kids, Inc.

Pickup for donations may be requested by phone, or by filling up a form on the Clothes Helping Kids, Inc. website.

Clothes Helping Kids, Inc. is based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where a large amount of their clothing donation bins are hosted. Annual grant recipients over the years include those located in Taos, Santa Fe, and Albuquerque.

If you’re near the border of Texas, it may be easier for you to head to a donation bin in Texas to donate your old clothes. Texans are some of the highest donators of used clothes in the country, so there’s plenty of bins and thrift stores to donate to.
